Dear Santa...

With Christmas just around the corner, I thought I would compile a little wishlist of all the things I would love to see under my tree this year. Perhaps, granted, a little optimistic to wish for all the items below, hopefully my top picks will give those struggling for last minute gift ideas some food for thought. I know Valentino's coffee table book is at the top of my wishlist... sorry Santa!

New in | MAC Essentials

Ever since discovering the secret to Kylie Jenner's obscenely oversized lips was down to a matte lip colour and some serious over-lining, I have been obsessed with buying lipliners. Despite my makeup bag already overflowing, when I heard MAC were offering 10% off during Black Friday weekend I decided it was the perfect excuse to stock up on some essentials and give my lipstick collection an update. After refraining from spending my entire student loan on more cosmetics, in the end I opted for a soft pink shade for everyday ('soar') and 90's inspired dark brown for nights out ('spice'). I love the matte finish the lipsticks give, and the longevity of the colours far surpass anything I have used before. MAC, you have me hooked.

Monthly Muse | Jourdan Dunn

I've always been a huge fan of Jourdan Dunn, so it came as no surprise to hear she was crowned model of the year at the BFA's last week. Having walked for the likes of Burberry, Victoria's Secret and Balmain; whether sporting an oversized baseball shirt or a sequin dress the supermodel is always perfectly attired. When stuck for outfits myself, I love nothing more than scrolling through Jourdan's Instagram page for inspiration, using her 'street meets chic' signature style to help me inject some life into my everyday ensembles.

November Wishlist

After a little visit to Selfridges and Harvey Nichols in Birmingham yesterday, my wishlist is becoming more extensive than ever as the stores begin to display their incredibly alluring christmas arrays. Gravitating towards all things students can't afford as per usual, below is a brief round up of the items I have particularly fallen in love with - namely the velvet Gucci heels and Charlotte Simone's super cute pom-pom cap!

Jumper: Michael Kors | Bralet: Stella McCartney | Hat: Charlotte Simone | Eye Shadow: Chanel | Candle: Harvey Nichols | Lipstick: Nars | Heels: Gucci | Key Ring: Helen Moore

New In | Olivia Burton Watch

I've been on the lookout for the perfect gold watch for ages now, so when I came across this Olivia Burton timepiece whilst shopping on Oxford Street recently, I decided to treat myself to an early christmas gift. Already owning more watches than I can count, I am obsessed with oversized dials with minimalistic features. Opting for the yellow gold as opposed to the rose gold, the piece adds a sophisticated feel to my usual all black ensemble, as well as making a refreshing change to my ever growing Marc Jacobs collection...

Balmain x H&M | What I Bought

Like many other fashion enthusiasts, my Thursday morning last week consisted of sitting in front of my computer frantically pressing the refresh button on the H&M website. After seeing the words 'please try again later' around 100 times, I finally reached the Balmain landing page. Frantically scrolling through any items that were still available, I swiftly placed a pair of silver earrings in my basket - one of the few items left to purchase. Despite feeling seemingly smug at the time, on delivery I discovered a pair of plastic, clip on earrings that even Primark would struggle to sell. At least the Balmain x H&M box is nice, right?

The Max Mara dupe of dreams

As the nights draw in and the mornings become colder, it's that time of year when I begin looking for jackets/coats that will keep me cosy over the winter months. After lusting over Max Mara's padded jackets for a considerable length of time now, I've since been searching high and low for a high-street equivalent that is a little more forgiving on the student budget. After a little research and online window shopping, I stumbled across this amazing microfibre jacket from Next. Shower-resistant and just a tenth of Max Mara's asking price, I have a feeling both the black and beige version of this jacket will have a space in my wardrobe very soon...

Monthly Muse | Sienna Miller

Fashion's best dressed serve as a constant source of inspiration when putting my outfits together, so on the last Friday of every month from now on I'll be sharing a style muse with you. And, who else could I possibly start my first post with other than celebrity style icon Sienna Miller?! With her effortlessly cool, classic signature style, I'm forever looking to emulate the actresses' wardrobe - often searching high and low for high-street imitations of her designer ensembles. Below is my all time favourite look of Sienna's - a casual Céline knit paired with chunky open-toe heels, a match made in designer heaven...

Insta Diary | Newquay

With our most recent university assignment based around surf brands, it seemed only right to take an impromptu weekend away to a costal town. After deciding on Newquay, we braved the seven hour train journey so we could research brands and interview surfers - of course squeezing in brunch at No5 cafe and a few cocktails at Watershed's sidewalk bar (well worth a visit if you happen to be in or around Newquay). See what else I got up to by heading over to my Instagram

Autumn Favourites with Farfetch

As a lover of all things knit, fluff and faux-fur, it'll come as no surprise that I am super excited to start channeling my A/W wardrobe as the summer months come to an end. With the fashion week catwalks denoting muted tones and layering galore, I predict turtle neck sweaters and sleeveless blazers will become my style-staple this season when dressing to brave the cold. As a little inspiration this season, I've teamed up with to bring you my ultimate A/W favourites; including Rag & Bone's Kristen dress and those snakeskin Givenchy boots. #FFAWDressUp

LFW S/S16 | House of MEA

Although stressful at times, interning as a PR girl over LFW certainly had its perks; perhaps the best being the all access pass I obtained whilst working the shows. Based in the beautiful Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden, during my five days with Fashion Scout I had the opportunity to attend some incredible shows such as Pam Hogg, Ashley Isham, Mimpikita and Marko Mitanovski. Below is one of my favourite snaps from over the week, taken at Maral Yazarloo's middle-eastern inspired collection for the House of MEA, featuring a plethora of bold colour palettes, intricate detailing and embroidered head dresses.

Beckham's New Direction

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding the Victoria Beckham show over the past 48 hours - from varying opinions on her half moon bag on social media, to a barrage of fierce criticism from the press regarding her questionable choice of 'skeletal' models. Despite the copious backlash the designer has received since debuting her new collection in NY on Sunday, I feel her S/S15 collection is one of her strongest to date. Moving away from her more traditional style of tailored silhouettes and 6-inch stilettos, this season's cachet consisted of fluted skirts and bold graphic prints, with every model sporting a pair of flat sandals or pumps. Below are some of my favourite looks from the show - not forgetting that half moon bag, perhaps to become one of the most coveted items in VB history.

Fashion Focus | Neckerchiefs

Despite usually deciding against wearing neckerchiefs in fear of looking like an air-hostess/cowboy, silk scarves are set to be a key transitional piece this season, and I sense they will become my go-to accessory when looking to update an otherwise tired ensemble. Whether it's classic Hermés silk or an old bandana from a thrift shop, next time your looking to accessorise an outfit add a neckerchief instead of a necklace to achieve a street-style worthy look even Olivia Palermo would be envious of.

August Wishlist

It's been a while since my last wishlist, however as this year's A/W clothes have started to hit stores mine has become more extensive by the day. Although I love the summer months and shopping for holiday attire, there's something about autumn fashion I just can't get enough of. Below are the pieces I'll be coveting as we wave goodbye to the summer months, including these gorgeous blue heels by Steve Madden - perfect for all things Fashion Week this September.

Travel | Rome Photo Diary

Italy is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the world, and as a fashion student it's no surprise that Rome has a firm place my heart. From the Trevi Fountain to the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps to Valentino - the list of things to see in the city is endless. Below are a few pictures from my trip to Rome, including some amazing shots from the Fendi helipad (the dream sightseeing spot for any fashionista!)

On the Street | Couture Fashion Week A/W15

I'm a firm believer that the biggest fashion trends emerge on the street, and I love nothing more than browsing through street-style archives with a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit. The eclectic mix of outfits and styles that flock to the street during any fashion week is perhaps the most unpredictable, yet influential catwalk on offer - and Couture Fashion Week was no exception. Below you can find a few of my favourite snaps from the Parisian style set, courtesy of Elle.

Interior Trends | Inky Blue

Inky blue, indigo and navy hues are set to be key colour trends for A/W15, especially when shopping for interiors. Although not commonly associated with rooms outside the bathroom, deep blue hues can act as a real talking point when placed against white walls and backdrops - adding a warm, sophisticated feel to any room. Whether you decide to embrace the trend through a bold feature wall, or opt for a more subtle approach by injecting the room with blue accessories, inky blues are a must for the season.

Fashion Focus | Flares

Despite at first, refusing to believe flared jeans could ever become chic again, after seeing them styled so effortlessly by numerous celebrities and fashion bloggers I've since felt obliged to ditch the skinny jeans and give them a chance. The perfect addition to any 70's inspired wardrobe, add chunky heels and a casual tee for the perfect low-maintenance outfit that will carry you through from day to night.

Swimwear Lovin'

Having booked a spontaneous last-minute holiday to Zante with my friend the other day, I've since been frantically rushing around trying to sort things out - including shopping for holiday attire. Despite not having enough time to order items online *sob*, there are so many gorgeous swimwear pieces on the 'net at the moment which will be mine before my next holiday to Fuerteventura. Below you can see my favourite swimwear items on the high street at the moment, perfect for lounging by the pool or paired with some culottes for evening cocktails.

Balmain x H&M

Over the recent years H&M's high-fashion collaborations have become the subject of feverish speculation, with past collections seeing the high-street retailer partner with some of the biggest names in fashion - including the likes of Alexander Wang, Lanvin and Versace. It comes as no surprise therefore, that this collaboration is set to be just as exciting as the last, with Balmain x H&M confirmed to launch on November 5th. The first two looks from the range were debuted earlier this weekend at the Billboard Music Awards in LA, when Balmain's creative director Oliver Rousteing walked the red carpet with Jourdan Dunn and Kendall Jenner, giving the world a first glimpse at one of the most anticipated collections of the year. Let the frenzy begin...

Style File | Suede on Suede

I'm totally in love the 70's trend right now, so it seemed only right to style one of the most coveted looks of the season, suede, for my first 'Style File'. From Gucci to Saint Laurent, the S/S15 catwalks were awash with suede as designers looked towards the 70's era for inspiration. Although at first I was somewhat hostile to the notion of dressing like a cowgirl, after falling in love with H&M's modern (and very bold) take on the suede jacket, my faith was restored. And, as a firm believer that less is definitely not more when it comes to fashion, I'll be styling suede on suede this season when it comes to embracing the 70's look.

Weekly Want | Katrantzou A-Z Totes

When I heard my one of my favourite designers, Mary Katrantzou, had partnered with Matches Fashion to design a 26-piece collection of alphabet totes, I knew I'd be lusting after one for the foreseeable future. Inspired by her typography influenced Resort 2015 collection, each bag exhibits a stylised letter worked into a colourful Katrantzou print. Although originally assuming the 'R' tote would shoot to the top of my wishlist, after seeing the full collection I have fallen in love with all 26. And, with only 20 of each individual bag being made, if you're after any letter other than X, Y or Z you'll have to shop fast!

Spring Wishlist | The Next Edit

With my current university assignment running in partnership with Next, recently I've been spending a great deal of time browsing their stores, directory and e-commerce. As a result I have not only found myself frequently online shopping instead of working, but I have also developed a somewhat extensive wishlist of all things Next. Below is a brief round up of the items I'm currently lusting after, with the navy utility jacket sitting right at the top of my spring wardrobe must-haves.

Next wishlist

Beauty Watch | Graphic Eyeliner

It's good news for winged eyeliner perfectionists as graphic eyeliner makes a comeback. Coveted at catwalks such as Fendi and Versace; whether it's for a night on the town or simply to switch up the monotony of the same old cat-eye, queue a steady hand and finesse to embrace this seasons beauty cachet.

'That' suede skirt

From the second Olivia Palermo stepped out in M&S's suede skirt at New York Fashion Week, it was destined to be the it piece of the season. It has since become the subject of fashion frenzy amongst the fashion press, with the 70's inspired staple featuring in almost every fashion publication under the sun. Due to debut in just 100 of the chains top stores on April 10th, for £199 you can snap up the most talked about item of the season. It's good news for fashion fanatics with a lesser budget too, with the retailer set to offer a faux suede version - available for a reasonable price of £39.50. Phew.

March Wishlist | Home Decor

Ever since moving into my new student pad I've become obsessed with all things interior, and bronze accessories have become my weakness. Living in student accommodation often means dreary lighting and peeling wallpaper - but with a little help from H&M home, something as simple as metallic cushion covers or an ornamental lampshade can really transform a room. Below is a round up of the current home items I'm crushing over, my favourite being this adorable elephant candle holder.

Travel | Top of the Rock NYC

Whilst in New York there are numerous tourist attractions that are pretty much compulsory to visit - the Empire State building, Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central Station and Brooklyn Bridge, to name a few. My favourite of them all however, was undoubtedly the afternoon I spent at the Rockefeller Centre (Top of the Rock). The picturesque views that could be seen were incredible, with the location situated perfectly to showcase a stunning 360 degree view of New York. For anyone planning on taking a trip to NY, I cannot recommend this experience enough. Just be sure to take a camera, and check the time of sunset to capture some amazing shots of the city that never sleeps.

Travel | New York Photo Diary

Being a fashion student has its perks, and last week was no exception as I jetted off to the the Big Apple on a weeks study trip. Although the stay was super short (not to mention baltic), I had the most amazing time and have fallen in love with the city. Below is a little photo diary of what I got up to during the week - from tourist attractions such as the Empire State, to an amazing behind the scenes tour of the Brooks Brothers flagship store on 5th Avenue.

On the Street | London Fashion Week A/W15

As fashion week commences, the streets of London become a catwalk of their own as avid fashionistas and bloggers alike take to the cobbles at Somerset House to showcase their best attire. Below is a round up of some of my favourite LFW street style snaps on the 'net, from quirky Kit-Kat pouches to Spongebob sweaters.

New In | Pinstripe Heels

I love the pinstripe trend that's popping up recently, so when I saw these heels in Primark the other day I just had to treat myself. They're not only comfortable and totally on trend, but at just £12 they're kind to the student bank account too - a winner for me. I intend to pair mine with an all black ensemble, however I think they'd look great with contrasting stripes too. Girls can never have too many heels, right?

Best of the Rest | January Sales

With the New Year festivities well and truly over, I will be happy to see the back of the dreaded dead-stock that lingers both online and in stores throughout the January period. Although, granted, some staple steals can be found if you keep your eyes peeled, I far prefer the buzz of new season collections - not to mention tidy stores and less 'sale must end today' junk mail. To make it easier to grab those last minute bargains however, below I have rounded up the best sale items left on the net'. You can thank me with Moschino...?

Fashion Focus | The Sweater Dress

Seen at fall shows including Stella McCartney and DKNY, the oversized sweater is every girls must have for these cold winter months. Paired with a fluffy clutch and some thigh-highs for a chic, cosy look that’s perfect for layering - the sweater dress is the ideal low-maintenance go-to for this season. Opt for a light grey or off purple for a feminine look, or an all black ensemble that will take you from office to evening.
